Shimla Manali Tour in October 2026 — Hidden Gem Season

October is our personal favourite month for Shimla Manali tours. In 14 years of running Himachal trips, October consistently delivers the best experience — crystal clear skies, zero crowds, off-season prices, and Rohtang Pass still open in early October. Most travel websites won't tell you this because they want you to book in peak season. We tell you the truth: October is often BETTER than June.

Crystal clear blue skies after the monsoon, with temperatures of 8-18°C — perfect for sightseeing without the summer crowds. It's apple harvest season, so the orchards around Kufri and Narkanda turn orange and red. Prices run about 40% cheaper than peak season, roads are empty with no traffic jams to Rohtang, and hotels are easy to book without advance-booking pressure.

Rohtang Pass is usually still open until late October, Solang Valley activities are all available, and photography conditions are simply the best of the entire year — clear light, green valleys, and none of the summer haze.

Shimla: 8-18°C during the day, 4-10°C at night. Manali: 5-15°C during the day, 2-8°C at night. Rohtang Pass: 0-8°C, usually open until late October. Snowfall is possible at higher altitudes toward the end of the month, so carry a warm layer even though daytime sightseeing weather is pleasant.

Light woolens for the day, a heavy jacket for evenings and mornings, a rain jacket for occasional light showers, sunscreen SPF 50+ (UV is strong at altitude), and comfortable walking shoes for Mall Road and Old Manali.
