What's Special in December
Snow at Solang Valley is guaranteed from December, and the Atal Tunnel to Sissu becomes a genuine winter wonderland. Both Shimla and Manali get into full Christmas mode, with celebrations at hotels and cafes, and New Year countdowns at mountain-view restaurants draw travelers from across the country. Snow activities like sledging and snowman-building are in full swing, hotel rooms come with cozy mountain snow views, and Old Manali's cafes light bonfires most nights.
